After work today I took a short trip to my favorite toy store TOY KINGDOM to unwind and check out what’s new since Christmas is fast approaching. Of course, the first thing you see is the big picture of Barbie’s face (I really don’t like this version.)
Anyway, I found a few copy cats (?) of Barbie inside and their packaging was the ones that really caught my eye. Quite impressive. For someone on a tight budget, these dolls will do, although they don’t have the same quality like Barb, they are attractive enough to cheer up little girls. I rarely buy copy cats unless they pass my taste like my Silkstone Barbie clone. I do not condemn these cheap imitations because they also have their advantages like for those who can’t afford the original expensive ones, these are good replacements and you get the same “feeling” of having one that is…..if you’re not too discriminating.

Indeed, there are a lot of copy cats in the market that are as good as Barb. If one is not familiar with the original, these dolls can be mistaken for a Barbie. The only problem with these dolls is the quality, plus they have a pair of malnourished legs. Thank you Diva.

Wow, some of those have extremely similar packaging to Barbie! I don’t think they would get away with that very easily where I live in the U.S.

Hello Molly, yes we know how strict it is in some countries including US when it comes to importation and selling imitation products. Actually, same here in our country, but I guess some got slipped in. The way I see it, they modify the design a little to set the difference so as not to be tagged as copying.
