FUTAMI AMI

The only anime looking doll I liked are Licca and Jenny  of Takara Tomy, I wasn’t even familiar with any character except Sailor Moon back then.  So when I found a Futami Ami in one of my thrift store hopping, it didn’t take long, I put her up on sale.

FUTAMI AMI Series No. 007

I found her MIB (Mint In Box) although the box is not in good condition, the doll is new, sealed, all accessories complete, no damage.  It took less than a week, she got sold.  Only to find out later she was worth more than my tag price!  My brother told me I should have consulted and showed him first when I mentioned its Revoltech!

I didn’t even bother to take her out of her sealed plastic, I just checked for some broken parts which I saw none, she’s in goody goody condition.  She’s one of those dolls I regret selling.

Whenever I put up an item for sale, I don’t jack up the price too much when it came from a thrift store, MIB or not, I always remember what my mother used to tell me, don’t tag too high so you can have loyal buyers (mom I’m not a full time seller, but I take your word for it) 😉

PURENEEMO!

20170425_194321

Last Tuesday I had a “meet up” with a buyer of my Ori Princess Doll and we agreed to meet at SM Light Mall.  Anyway after our transaction, I took a quick tour around since it’s my first time to be there.  I don’t usually agree to transact any other place except Megamall or Galleria, but since it’s along the way, I thought why not.

The store Cool Japan caught my attention, the name, signage, simple lay out and I saw the Gundam display!  No, I’m not into it, my brother collects these type of toys so I thought of taking a few snaps to show him.  This small store has items ranging from select collectible figures, toys, craft materials and beauty items such as make up, lipsticks, nail polish, false eyelashes, etc!

I asked the cashier if they have dolls from Japan, not the souvenir type, she pointed the anime dolls Pureneemo.  I got so excited I asked permission to take a few shots.

They are of 1/6 Scale and Wow!  They cost almost 70% of my one month salary!  Lucky are those who can afford without feeling the dent on their pockets!  Anyway, even if they put these up on sale, I can’t afford and have no plans of buying even on installment basis.

I know these type of dolls have been around for quite some time, you can probably find them in Greenhills, but this is my first time to see them up close and I felt so excited I could have bought one…if… they are priced at Php800.00 maybe? He he he!

I have asked permission from the cashier if I can take a few shots and yeah!

These reminded me of “Futami Ami” by Revoltech which I found in a thrift store sometime in 2013.  Next post, Futami Ami.

ORI PRINCESS

Yes its ORI and not ARI as I have mentioned in my previous post.

Ori Princess is an animation toy for girls manufactured by M&C Toy Centre Ltd. and created by Puzzle Animation Studio Ltd.

I found her last December in a thrift store still in her original sealed but damaged packaging.  I was surprised that she’s still there because the “new arrival” was way passed 3 days already.  Despite the not so good condition of her box, she’s in MIB along with her accessories.

However, when I opened the box, I noticed she has this old plastic smell that resembles a body odor!  Whew! LOL!  I put her out for a couple of days under the sun and sprinkled her with baking powder hoping the smell would go away.   She still stinks!  Though I haven’t tried yet to give her a bath, maybe that should solve the problem.

Anyway,  I couldn’t understand what’s written on her carton, the only words I can read is Ori Princess, so anyone reading this can check out the link above.  I am now contemplating if I will sell her or not.  I liked anime dolls and after seeing pics of her on the internet, I decided to keep her, at least for the time being.

I kept her accessories sealed “as is” on the cardboard, only the doll has the smell.  By the way, she stands 10″ has jointed limbs, and bendable knees like Barbie.  The leaflet is actually a collection of stickers which I suppose can be used to design the guitar.  I wonder if the guitar plays music.

ANTEPRIMA DOLL CACOCUCO (Continuation)

Last part of my Anteprima Doll post is supposed to be Caco in different outfit, but I got lazy and the sun is not cooperating much for natural lighting, plus I couldn’t find any dress that could fit chubby Caco.

DAISO’S ELLY DOLL (PART 2 OF 2)

Here’s the 2nd part of Daiso’s Elly Doll.  I took a close up hoping to see a clear shot of her eye paint, the catchlight is smudged and the white base of her eyes are off centered.  Anyway, she’s cute despite being cheap.  For anyone who can’t afford a a new Licca doll, this one will do at least for me.

ELLY DOLL BY DAISO

ELLY DOLL BY DAISO

I liked the way they packed her outfit, it’s simple and easy, just open the cardboard and peel off the scotch tape.

20150726_173411 20150726_173521Since Elly’s feet are slightly angled (not arched), the Japanese Slippers does not fit properly even though they are made supposedly for her.

20150726_172647I was amused at how they have constructed her uniform.  I thought it was a 4 piece ensemble (skirt, vest, blouse & bow) but was surprised (maybe because I’m not a dressmaker) when I opened the pack.

20150725_170820   Anyway, she’s adorable when I tried all the outfit on her.  And these fashion line belongs to her!

I know there are a lot more in her fashion line but I’m Ok with my collection.  I was thinking of buying another clone called Beloved but nixed the idea at the last minute.  I’ve got a lot of original Liccas and Jennys already which I will post in the future.  Just for my reference, here are their pictures.

DAISO’S ELLY DOLL (Part 1 of 2)

The first time I saw Elly was in a thrift store.  Back then I didn’t know who she was, for me she’s just another cheap clone from China or made by our local manufacturers here in the Philippines.  But even though, I must say she has her own appeal, but not enough to make me take her home, so I left her with the rest of the mangled dolls.

Then in one of my visit to Daiso/Saizen at Robinson’s Galleria I found dolly clothes but for whom?  I searched for the doll but the clerk said the last piece was sold long ago and the management didn’t replenish their stocks anymore.  I was curious, I searched their branch in Glorietta but only found an assortment of her outfit.  I bought a few which I earlier posted here and several months later, the same pieces went on sale for as low as Php25.00 to Php10.00!

Ok, I got all the design I want, but still no doll.  I know I can use it for Licca and some small dolls but these cute line belongs to her and created for her, she should get the credits!  So just recently visited the store at Galleria again and found a few of Elly’s dress on sale again.  I inquired about the doll, I got same answer.  I was not satisfied with “no stocks” reply specially when the clerk didn’t even budge to double check.  So I searched from one isle to another, it was gut feeling and I was right!  There she was hanging behind other toys!

The last piece?  Maybe she got left behind in the stock room and now she looks pitiful.

Clad in her jersey yellow bathing suit, Elly’s body is made of cheap hollow plastic.

ELLY DOLLHer hair is not as soft or as thick as Licca’s and her head is not fully rooted.  She has this round head connector that is molded as part of her neck which for me is good and safe.  I like dolls with this type of head connector, I don’t have to worry about accidentally breaking the neck.

I bought her school uniforms, will have to try them on for my next post.
