The only anime looking doll I liked are Licca and Jennyof Takara Tomy, I wasn’t even familiar with any character except Sailor Moon back then. So when I found a Futami Ami in one of my thrift store hopping, it didn’t take long, I put her up on sale.
I found her MIB (Mint In Box) although the box is not in good condition, the doll is new, sealed, all accessories complete, no damage. It took less than a week, she got sold. Only to find out later she was worth more than my tag price! My brother told me I should have consulted and showed him first when I mentioned its Revoltech!
I didn’t even bother to take her out of her sealed plastic, I just checked for some broken parts which I saw none, she’s in goody goody condition. She’s one of those dolls I regret selling.
Whenever I put up an item for sale, I don’t jack up the price too much when it came from a thrift store, MIB or not, I always remember what my mother used to tell me, don’t tag too high so you can have loyal buyers (mom I’m not a full time seller, but I take your word for it) 😉
Last Tuesday I had a “meet up” with a buyer of my Ori Princess Doll and we agreed to meet at SM Light Mall. Anyway after our transaction, I took a quick tour around since it’s my first time to be there. I don’t usually agree to transact any other place except Megamall or Galleria, but since it’s along the way, I thought why not.
The store Cool Japan caught my attention, the name, signage, simple lay out and I saw the Gundam display! No, I’m not into it, my brother collects these type of toys so I thought of taking a few snaps to show him. This small store has items ranging from select collectible figures, toys, craft materials and beauty items such as make up, lipsticks, nail polish, false eyelashes, etc!
I asked the cashier if they have dolls from Japan, not the souvenir type, she pointed the anime dolls Pureneemo. I got so excited I asked permission to take a few shots.
They are of 1/6 Scale and Wow! They cost almost 70% of my one month salary! Lucky are those who can afford without feeling the dent on their pockets! Anyway, even if they put these up on sale, I can’t afford and have no plans of buying even on installment basis.
I know these type of dolls have been around for quite some time, you can probably find them in Greenhills, but this is my first time to see them up close and I felt so excited I could have bought one…if… they are priced at Php800.00 maybe? He he he!
I have asked permission from the cashier if I can take a few shots and yeah!
These reminded me of “Futami Ami” by Revoltech which I found in a thrift store sometime in 2013. Next post, Futami Ami.
